2024 Herb & Tea Garden

Hey All & Welcome back to the Garden Blog!

You’ve probably caught onto it already but I’ve broken my garden down into 3 sections; Vegetables, Flowers, and the Herb & Tea garden. I’ve reviewed the vegetables and re-strategized according to this past years results. I’ve added in a flower budget after being inspired by last years zinnias. And in all of this reflection I realized that one aspect I’d been so excited for in the garden, was probably the most under utilized last year.. the herbs & teas.

Herbs

I’ve recently discovered that it’s ok to season food! (LOL!) The BBQ game is definitely getting raised this summer! I think for the most part I’ll stick to raised bed gardening around our home space for the herbs, just to make them that much more accessible & less likely to forget about them. Chives were an all time favourite in the kitchen last year, and for some reason I loved coming home to the smell of basil as I brushed past it going through the doorway. I think it’s the little things, the simple smells that bring summer rushing back to mind.

Teas

Another one I’m excited for is Teas! I managed to experiment a little last year and while the mint didn’t come on as strong as promised by those online, my lemon balm certainly did. I adored sitting down to a lemon balm/raspberry tea in the evening and can’t wait to plant these along the back fence line & walking path.

I hope these are inspiring you to start dreaming of your own gardens & believing in what you are capable of creating & growing!
